Megatrends beyond the crisis´ is his second book, for which he interviewed dozens of bankers across the globe. He previously co-published (in Dutch) ´De marketeer in de wolken´, a book on how marketing should leverage IT. Roger is a board member for the Netherlands Film Festival and advisor to Warchild, the Microcredits for Mothers Foundation, and the More Than Football Foundation. Roger graduated with honours from the Eindhoven University of Technology and worked for a brief period in advertising. |

Peter VarenkampFormer CIO, member of the board Aegon Nederland In September 2008 Peter Varenkamp left Aegon, having worked there for over 10 years in a number of functions across the board in Aegon Nederland from Chairman Division General Insurance, Chairman Consumer Division, etc. In the last three years Peter was responsible for all service centers at Aegon Nederland, all IT operations and Central Purchasing. In this role he pulled the customer satisfaction level across all areas above seven out of ten, not in the least due to the fact that he managed to clear up a longstanding backlog in administration. After that he focused on achieving the level of IT innovation Aegon still enjoys today. |

Conny DorrestijnConference Chairman and Content Director Conny Dorrestijn has worked for nearly twenty years in the field of financial services, new technology and marketing. She started her career in this field with a long spell in the City of London, where she was marketing director at ACT Financial Systems, now part of the Misys Group. In 1996 she returned to the Netherlands focusing on importing knowledge about internet technology and banking into Europe as a partner of the world’s Atlanta (US) based first internet bank Security First Network Bank. In 1996 she co-founded a company Contacts Communications BV, which later transformed into Shiraz Partners, operating from both London and the Netherlands, concentrating on positioning and communications issues for players in the field of technology and finance. Her early virtual finance study trips brought many financial institutions from Europe to early adopters in the US and South Africa. In the Netherlands she established The Virtual Finance Monitor in co-operation with research company Trendbox and Roccade Finance. She also established “Beyond the Square Mile”- a UK debate cycle on “outside” issues concerning the financial industry. In 2008 Shiraz Partners and the European Centre for the Experience Economy initiated a study into the authenticity of the Dutch Financial Services industry (Motivaction). The results were presented at a number of events, including a keynote delivery at BAI’s Retail Delivery in Orlando together with Joseph Pine II. Conny often speaks on this topic at events and is also an independent consultant, working for clients across the globe, debate leader and narrator on a broad range of topics concerning the international financial services industry. |
Hendrik VanmaeleProf. Hendrik Vanmaele is Chief Executive Officer for MÖBIUS, a consulting company, and a part-time professor at the Universiteit Gent and Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. His specialization is situated in the domain of strategic management of process-driven organizations. With regards to the banking sector, he is currently running a research on branch performance, with the objective to maximize the potential of the banking distribution channels, focusing on the right products and executing the right activities. His unique experience as an academic combined with relevant business experience makes Prof. Vanmaele an interesting speaker on an international level. Also he has authored several publications in the field. |
